An independent engine inspection carried out using a borescope and oil samples taken by Revolution Marine Engineering onboard the Emma Jane stated:
"Upon initial inspection, the Charge air cooler and cylinder head air manifold were surprisingly clean given the total hours run. The addition of hydrogen may be contributing to this cleaning effect. Valve gear, despite regular oil changes, has lower carbon deposits than expected. Borescope imaging revealed cylinder liners in excellent condition considering the total hours run and light loading periods."
